Just a few days ago I received an email from Comcast saying that they were almost doubling my previous speeds at no charge, I hadn't heard anything of this before and needless to say I was quite surprised.

Now on to the problem..

The first is a test with my router as normal, the second is a test bypassing my router directly to the modem.

My router is a Netgear WNDR3700v2 that I bought a few years back, I haven't had any major issues with it before now besides weak antennas which are a known problem. I've updated the firmware, set it back to factory settings just incase, tried different cables, the problem still persists.

I'm not a networking buff so I'm not sure what the problem might be or what other troubleshooting steps to take. I'm quite okay with the current speeds even if they are lower than I could or should be getting, but if there's something that can be fixed I would obviously like to fix it if possible.

get the company to give you a router. they always work much better then anything you can buy for whatever reason. (at least for me) my speeds doubled with a company router.

Yes these are LAN speeds not wireless, sorry.

Good, then i would recommend replacing the router and running the test again... Hopefully a friend can lend you one or something, just for the test.
