Getting Keyboard Shortcuts working iPad

Hi all,

In the past few months I’ve started to do a lot of writing with my iPad with a standard keyboard plugged in. Mostly because it’s convenient to carry around with me. I’m sure there are a couple of other people out there doing the same 

 

Unfortunately I’ve run into issues where I can’t use shift-delete or ctrl-i in the google docs app. Is this normal?

 

If it is, are there any good iPad text editors that do let me use such shortcuts? If it isn’t, do I maybe need to change my keyboard firmware?

 

Specs:

iPad is the most recent iPad mini w/ most recent OS

keyboard is Bakeneko60 plugged into the iPad with a big standard USB cable

Use Pages? It’s part of apples own office suite so it should work.
