So, a few days ago, I loaded up my PC as normal and it booted fine. Then, I opened Minecraft but then my computer turned off like you had pressed the reset switch. It then turned on but I was getting no monitor output (because of my HDMI Switcher) and my keyboard wasn’t lighting up (it only does that after it has booted Windows). I then turned it off at the plug, turned it back on and pressed the power button. It still didn’t work. I haven’t got a motherboard that shows POST codes so I don’t know what the issue is. However, I suspect it is either a BIOS issue or an issue with my Boot Drive. My PC was custom-built but for someone else so I don’t know all of the specs but here are the ones I know:

Motherboard: Lenovo

CPU: Intel Core i5, unknown generation

GPU: Nvidia GT 750

Boot Drive: Unknown

RAM: 2x Sticks of Samsung 4GB DDR3

Power Supply: Unknown Manufacturer, 230W

If anyone could help, it would be very helpful.

Sounds like a power supply issue / failure to me. 230W is barely enough for most modern PCs anyway, it's also possible the low wattage power supply could have fried the board. If the PSU is bad and mobo is okay, I would get at least a 500-650W, maybe more if you plan future video upgrades.

Just now, JJ Burbage said:

I don’t think so because the LED fans turn on and the mouse lights do too but that might be a possibility as 230W is pretty low.

None of that takes more than 1-3 watts at maybe 0.5 amp. Takes a lot more to power on that mobo. I'd have both tested, 230W is low, and if it's failed, it could have taken the mobo with it.

Agreed, sounds like your PSU kicked the bucket. But if you're running off a lenovo prebuilt it's possible that it uses proprietary connectors.
If you want to confirm that, try pulling the GPU and run off onboard graphics

BTW, OP, if your PSU is bad and the mobo is okay, you might look into swapping everything into a more standardized case if the mobo has a standardized ATX connector. You'll probably spend enough for a replacement PSU, you could have bought a better case more suited to upgrades...

I’ll try all of these suggestions tomorrow so thanks for all your help and I’ll tell you if anything works. You can still send in suggestions but I won’t see them yet because I’m in England and it’s really late now.

Understood. To illustrate my point, for the 5900X build I just completed, I got a Corsair 4000X case with three LL120 RGB fans up front for $130.00. That's about what my Corsair RM850x cost as well. Case came without a PSU, but some manufacturers will bundle or you might be able to find something reusable on Craigslist or something to kill two birds with one stone. You've got a decent platform if you can get it back up and running, but most Lenovo cases are SFF, and even if they're not, they're not very receptive to aftermarket upgrades.

I always recommend a Phanteks Eclipse 400 mesh. They are usually 60$ in the US and come with three reasonable fans and are an absolute dream to build in. It's what my 3090/5950X main rig is in. I think I've deployed 11 of them over the years in various builds with various friends and counting rig rebuilds I've built in it an even 20 times

Going by the GT 750 GPU and DDR3, I'm assuming the PSU was original from 2014 as well? Almost 8 years old, at 230W I'd expect it to have lost some capacity quite a bit... If you can, time to fire the parts cannon if you have a spare PSU lying about.
