Build own server

Go to solution Solved by brob,

In its most basic form a server is nothing more than a system dedicated to providing various services to other systems. Any system can satisfy that definition.

I have assumed you are not considering an enterprise level server with redundant PSU, ECC memory, etc.

Budget (including currency): 1000€

Country: Germany

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: OMV, Homebridge, Virtual Windows PC, Mail Server

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I started my journey into the world of servers by setting up OMV on an old desktop pc, but I want to delve deeper into that topic. Therefor I would like to have a machine that is capable of running all of my ideas above. I do not know where and how to start tho, thats why I made this post. Perhaps any of you have useful tips and or ideas that could help me out.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
