audio issues

So if I plug my headphones into my laptop, it doesn't connect, but if i restart my laptop with it plugged in it connects, and I can't disconnect my headphones or I'll have to do it again. I've tried reinstalling drivers WHICH WORKED for a few days, but then it went back to what it was. does anyone have a fix?

There is not enough information here to help you. We don't know what your connectivity method is, USB, jack, whether you're using a dongle, adapter etc. What model headphones, what software, what operating system.
