CPU Swap Causing Boot Issues?

When we had the initial boot, I set the BIOS to default. It does not cycle. From the off position, a regular press to the power button does absolutely nothing. We haven't tried a regular restart yet

How are you starting it then?  bridging the pins?

If so I'd double check the FP connectors are inserted correctly, swap the + - power button cables around.

I recently swapped my brother's Ryzen 3 1200 for my Ryzen 5 1600x. His PC takes a few tries to power on now.  Double triple checked that all the cables were connected correctly. Power supply should be good. I put all his components into PC PartPicker for a compatibility test and there were no red flags. After it does finally turn on, everything runs great (a lot better that the 1200). Its just annoying to have to jimmy with the power every time it boots. Any ideas?

Shot in the dark but try resetting BIOS to defaults and see if the behaviour persists.

What does it behave like when it doesn't start ? Does it powercycle by itself or does it just get stuck on a black screen or something ?
