Windows Key Question

Go to solution Solved by DarrenP,

This is potentially a dumb question, so I apologize in advance.

I'm going to swap out the HDD in my laptop with an SSD, and I think I'd prefer to do a clean install. I plan to use the Windows install CD from my desktop build (I either never got a CD with the laptop or I've misplaced it), but use the Windows product key that is on the bottom of my laptop. Because it's the same device with the same motherboard and everything, I shouldn't have any problem activating the windows key on the SSD during install, correct? (aka I plan to swap out the HDD, install the SSD, boot from the Windows install CD, and install Windows from there. Should have no problems, right?)

You'll be fine. Product keys link to the motherboard not the HDD/SSD.
