Hi I'm new to pc gaming and I just got my laptop it's a zephyrus m16 my question is that I was playing doom eternal and noticed that it was using both the igpu and the 3060 is this normal? also on advanced display settings in windows it says that it's using the igpu is there a way to change it or does it change when I launch a game? thank you

What's the game performance like?

 

And what you can actually see there is that the iGPU is being used, but you can't see by what. Check the Processes tab, find the Doom process and scroll to the right - it should show you which GPU it's using.

if your laptop doesn't have a mux switch, it is likely that your iGPU is displaying what your dGPU has rendered and is therefore being slightly used

I did that and it said it was using gpu 0 which I think that's the IGPU and performance was good while I had my laptop on turbo mode

One is probably used for rendering, the other for display. And i guess they also switch in between each other for energy efficiency at some light to render scenes. You should be able to disable the iGPU from the BIOS and run only on the dedicated one, but then your battery will beg to just shoot it and relieve it of its misery.
