Hey for ages I was using a 2.0 then got a little tipsy and now own a 2.1 a Creative Pebble Plus 2.1 and I really do like the audio quality of the 2 speakers the sub is meh ran in to a few simple issue but for now yeah not great, I know I can plug via mains and get a boost but didn't do much now since it's I think RCA can I just but a new sub and use that for some extra bass? Also any recommendation?

I'd love to go full AMP and speakers but space is limited plus so is budget and really don't fancy spending £250 plus on amp, sub and speakers! All help would be amazing thank you!

It's powered by a PC's USB port.

USB 1.0/1.1   0,5 W
USB 2.0   2,5 W
USB 3.0/3.1 (Gen1)   4,5 W
USB 3.1 (Gen2)   15 W

The 2.1 system needs 8 W for normal operation and it can go up to 16 W peak.

So which kind of USB port do you use?

Make sure, it gets it's 8-16 W.

If you don't know, how: Here's a 18 W power supply for USB-A:

AVF Super-Fast UK Mains Quad-Port USB-A / USB-C Mains Wall Charger - White | Maplin

If you want a loud sub, you need power.

Here's an example:

You want to hear the sub as loud as a driving car.

A driving car is like 80 dB loud.

Our ears are less sensitive for very low and very high frequencies.

So to make a bass sound like 80 dB, you will need 100 dB.

Unfortunately, the efficiency is not written on their website, but let's guess 82 dB per Watt per meter away.

100 dB = 82 dB + 18 dB.
+3 dB means, you need to double the power input.

So you will need 2^6 = 64 W for this example.

Amazing I have plugged it in to a Samsung fast charger that goes up to 15W and already seems a little better! Any good songs you like to test the boom?

Gooey's bass isn't that deep, but the variance in frequency can test how well the crossover is set up.

This remix of Moan has fairly consistent deep bass beats. See how low your sub can really go

Rather than punchy bass beats, this recording can reveal if your sub is capable of ambiance and subtlety.
