Replacement Drive

Aright well from the looks of things it seems that my 1tb WD blue drive is dying and I need to replace it.  Wish it would last longer than the year I've been using it but it can't be helped.  So does anyone have any drive recommendations in the 1 to 2tb storage range?  I'm mainly looking for stability and speed, I say speed meaning 7200 rpm.  I know drives don't vary much but some have a higher stability than others.  Also idk if a green drive would work can anyone explain intellipower? Thanks in advance.

A Seagate Barracuda, I've had one running solid for over a year, almost 5 months of which velcroed onto my motherboard tray.

If this is your main drive, I would go WD black or Seagate barracuda.

 

My personal preference is 5 year warranty, however this comes a significant price increase, which your budget may not accommodate. I have WD velociraptors, WD RE 4s or Seagate Constellations also carry 5 year warranty.

 

intellipower is not something you want for your boot drive, its a power saving feature to my knowledge and not as fast as a 7200rpm drive like the black or barracuda. more a low access drive, eg. movies and/or photos.
