you would remove all your components from the PC case and basically build a new PC from scratch (of course you don't have to take the CPU out of the socket or the ram)

most ATX motherboards have 7 screws located around the board to hold it in

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

Those screws screw into brass standoffs, which leave a little bit of room between the bottom of the motherboard and the case so it can't short out. Just make sure every screw hole has a standoff beneath it, and that there aren't any other standoffs installed where there isn't a screw hole. Once the motherboard is screwed down, all the ports should line up with the I/O shield and the PCIe slots will line up with the case's slots.

Also, remember the I/O shield (that metal plate that surrounds your ports); it presses into the hole in the case from the inside, so it goes in first and comes out last.

Watch a few how-to videos before you start. This is definitely one of those things where it's easier to show than tell.

I sold my soul for ProSupport.
