AMD FX 8350 build and future proofing

the Gigabyte UD3 is a great board (especially in the more common 1.0 revision, the rev 3.0 is not bugfree), but it can't overclock an FX-8350, it just doesn't have the CPU power supply for that.

If you want to overclock your FX-8350 reliably, you'll have to spend more money and get the UD5, or an AsRock Extreme 5 (not that I recommend AsRock, far from it), or an Asus board with a more solid VRM. If you overclock the FX-8350 (which draws current like you won't believe, it's a power hog!) on a UD3, the MOS-FETs will overheat and you'll have problems.

Either go for the FX-8520 with a mild overclock, or with the FX-6350 to overclock the crap out of, or invest in a higher grade motherboard and overclock the crap out of the FX-8350.

Other than that, I also prefer Gigabyte boards for gaming systems, and Asus boards for systems that will also run GNU/Linux. Both Gigabyte and Asus make solid boards that are quality-wise consistently above the competition in consumer-grade boards.

good build, but I'd swing for a 6300+7950, better fps in all.
