So i've been using the same controllers for about a year or so now. (Scuf Impact) Randomly today my PC no longer detects either one of them. No software does. DS4, warzone, steam. Nothing detects them. I tried multiple usb cables. Has anyone else ever encountered this?

Personally I have but for differing reasons, 1 dead controller other time bad cable

First off I assume the controller does power on when plugged in correct? Like lights on?

When the controller is unplugged, go to device manager, then plug it in. Does the device show up?

If not, that's a bad sign.

But if so, try deleting the driver (make sure to click the box to delete the software) then try rebooting and plugging up again

I've had this issue a few times and i got it fixed by connecting the controller to bluetooth. Get a bluetooth dongle or something, press and hold both the ps4 and share buttons till the controller starts flashing. Then use bluetooth on the computer to discover it and pair with it. That usually fixes it for me. It's just something dodgy with ds4. When it's plugged in and not detecting, if you check the windows game controller settings, it still shows in there. It's just ds4 and no games can see it properly. But the bluetooth trick usually sorts it for me.

This is why i ended up buying a wired xbox series s controller. No messing around with drivers or controllers not showing. They just work.

Yes it does still cut on. When plugged in the orange light flashes in and out slowly. But it is not detected by anything in regards to the PC. I found it odd and probably not a problem with the controllers. Simply because its doing it to 2 different PS4 controllers. To add to that I plugged up an xbox and ps5 controller and it instantly recognized both.

Why is it a bad sign?
