Fellow Nerds,

I have a bought a Lenovo IdeaPad Duet Chromebook for the purpose of simple note taking, Netflixing and things around the house.

Really love it for it's cheap price, especially the screen is much more than I would've expect for a device like this, but that's not the point.

I'ts really picky about Bluetooth devices somehow.

I do see my neigbours Sony TV showing up but I cannot seem to connect to my Sony WF-1000XM4 Bluetooth buds or my Wacom stylus.

(To be honest I am not sure if the stylus is supported, but it should show up in the list as far as I am aware)

The devices simply don't show in the discovery while I am really sure they are on, availible and not connected to anything else.

I read alot online about Chrome OS not being compatible with data transfer over Bluetooth and see quite some fixes for issues like this that all come down to:

"reboot the device with the Bluetooth disabled", but that doesn't do anything for me.

IF I activate the Bluetooth of either my work phone (older Samsung) and my new Phone (OnePlus Nord 2) the also don't show in the list.

Ofcourse I initialy try to make the connections with all other interfering Bluetooth devices disabled but that doesn't seem to matter.

Anyone who has some pointers? Especially the bluetooth buds are quite important to me since I want to make Teams calls on the device.

Small update:

I suddenly remembered that my Logitech MX Master 3 also has a Bluetooth connection.

This somehow does showup in discovery, but fails after trying to connect...

Really cannot figure this out...

  • 4 weeks later...

Another update for those stumbling upon the same stuff:

Lenovo has taken FOREVER te reply to my ticket, but iventually did..

They have done some kind of Vodoo stuff in the background and for now my Logitech is working.

The Sony Buds actually require the Sony Headphones App, whiich is availible in the Play Store on Chrome OS, but it's UI isn't optimised for this resolution

blocking the functionallity of it all togheter.

So I have now reached out to Sony to see if they'd consider changing this.

I am really happy with the Lenovo IdeaPad because for it's price the keyboard, screen and stylus are amazing.

This Bluetooth thing is a little bit messy and I am not really sure who to blame here since I don't have  a similar Chrome OS device availible to see

if that might work better.
