Hi guys,

 

so my dad said i could use his 2tb extrenal drive but will installing and playing games off it slow the games down in any way?

They'll be slower loading the game initially, since the information transfer is being limited by whatever USB interface you're using compared to a drive SATA connection. Past that, it's a bit up in the air whether or not you'd notice any kind of performance dip. I know with some of the older games I've played off of an external, there was no problem at all. New games might cause issues though, with more sheer information being transferred.

 

If it's not USB 3.0 or better, I probably wouldn't bother trying to use it for game files.
