Logitech specifically doesn't have any option to configure in Linux. Afaik you need to run a WIndows VM to configure and then save it on the internal memory of the mouse. So if specifically looking for Linux i'd go for driverless stuff. Glorious mice are among them iirc, with basically a hardware button for everything.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

Logitech Mice are actually supported pretty well in Linux with libratbag and piper, I believe the only thing missing is internal memory management. So long as you don't need sequence macros, it should work fine. Just be sure to use Native Builds of the software and not a containerized instance, I have had oddities at least with the Flatpak build in the past.
