My motherboard only has 2 slots for ram because it is a mini thing. The ram is DDR3 btw. Which mhz would I need to look like and what. Pls help

First comes the "problem" that,

even if you buy:

- same brand

- same speed

- same timing

There is still a chance the RAMs won't work together

Get the cheapest 8GB stick of unbuffered, full sized DIMMs of DDR3 you can find on eBay. Spending more than you need to on a DDR3 platform isn't really a good idea. Currently, it looks like this is the cheapest stick.

Unless you can find one on FB Marketplace or Craigslist for cheaper, this is what you should get.

I would say if you can go with a single 8gb stick the same as the one you have ( @podkall‘s thing) unless that is impossible or more expensive than @RONOTHAN##’s thing.  The second one still might not work though.  The most likely to work solution is look up the QVL for your machine and buy a 2x8 kit of one of the memories on that list.  The issue is kits have a better chance of working than single sticks paired later, and the QVL means that model was tested with that motherboard.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

You can just get the DDR3 same size 8GB and roughly the same mhz,

preferably same mhz and brand aswell. (rather mhz than brand tho)

If you haven't overclocked your ram,

it should be the same amount as mhz in task manager.

This can work.  It’s all playing about playing odds. The less close to matched they are the lower the chances are they will work.  It never goes to zero or 100 though.  The above method is the one that works best if you can return stuff.  Start with the cheapest stuff and return it if it doesn’t work. It might, in which case you win.
