Overall its not really going to matter. General rule for me is I want my OS on the fastest, snappiest drive possible and these days its NVMe SSD's. I have a 2TB SATA SSD for bulk storage and less played games.

If I was you i'd install it on your Crucial and just manage what you put where.

Ultimately its not going to matter.

Ryzen 7 7800x3D -  Asus RTX4090 TUF OC- Asrock X670E Taichi - 32GB DDR5-6000CL30 - SuperFlower 1000W - Fractal Torrent - Assassin IV - 42" LG C2 - Windows 11 Pro

will it matter if my games and os are from the same drive though? that's ultimately what I'm concerned about

Operationally, no. The only concern is if you want to do a quick windows wipe you’d have to move them or just download them again.

Up to you, I’d probably just buy a larger SATA SSD for games in your situation.

That makes sense. I think i'll do the OS on the 250gb samsung for easy wipes. Thanks for that!
