Coding Project Ideas - JavaScript

Hi!

I have a couple weeks before my college starts things up again (programming degree), and I just wanted to see if you guys had any ideas for a project!

I'm sick of seeing the same old ideas, and was looking for something that I could maybe add to my portfolio.

Does it have to be javascript? My go to project areas are backup automation and monitoring.

What’s your current backup strategy? Would you know if your backups are out of date?

If you self host anything (Plex, your blog/portfolio) do you have a status page for it or any other monitoring?

When I’m looking to try something out in a new language these are the kind of things I go for.

Have you thought of a web scraping / API based project?

You could use publically available data to collate information and analyse/display it in some way?

I've never done anything with web scraping. Any good documentation or resources you would have in mind to assist?
