What is this disk?

Hey guys,
I recently installed windows 11 on my new laptop and it resulted in something weird. I've got two drives, but I don't remember defining D and it's just half a gigabyte.

And I'm not sure If the stuff inside is essential, so I'm not sure if I should just remove it from disk management

This is how it looks in disk management

To give additional context, I did accidentally install windows multiple times, because I forgot to change the boot order at first and thought it didn't install, but I don't think that is related.

hi there looks like you reinstalled windows without deleting all the partitions did you do it from scratch like a clean install or did you upgrade???

what you could do is delete the 3 partitions and just merge it with the main partition take your picture for an example the 1st 3 that is listed on disk 0 from the left those 3 you could delete and merge with the main partition you should only have the main partition and efi partition left

These ones you mean?

Are you sure? Would make sense, because I think I ended up installing windows 3 times in total, because of me forgetting to change the boot order and thinking that it didn't install

yes those exact ones you need to remove them and merge with the (C:) partition

Looks to be an old EFI partition. You can just remove the drive letter and it'll disappear.

 

Merging everything back into C would mean rewriting the entire drive so probably better to either reinstall or just leave as is and forget these 5igh GB.

When you did the fresh install, at the screen where you pick a drive to install to, did you first delete all the existing partitions?

So would merging break my windows then?

Normally not, it'd just take a long time and require 3rd party software since Windows itself doesn't have tools to do it.
