HELP PLEASE!!! (gpu issue potentially)

HELLO PEOPLE OF THIS FORUM,

 

My specs are 

gtx 1080 with kraken g12

r7 2700x

x570-a-pro

2x16gb ripjawsV ddr4 3200

2x 970 evo plus 1tb each

750w psu 80+ gold

 

The issue is when i try two different gpus on my pc to see if it will work my ez debug led on mobo shines the red 'VGA' for both. Both of them are known to work so I'm not sure what is happening but I need help! (I use each gpu in the same slot but seperately.

have you tried the other 16x slot for the GPUs?

does anything show on the screen or any display output before the debug light comes on?

its like the monitor detects a plugin but no signal. its the same on both slots (x16 and x8).
