Can I use a PCIe Gen4 m.2 in the top slot on a z490 board and a 10900k?

I think so, it just won't be running at gen 4 speeds!

The only reason I want to use a Gen4 m.2 on the top is because it has no heatsink and the m.2 does, only problem with that is that the m.2 is Gen4
