This is the first PC I'm actually building (and my first post here on the LTT forums) and I installed the CPU, cooler, RAM and SSD on the MOBO before flashing the BIOS because I didn't have the flash drive at the time. Tried flashing the BIOS last night and it didn't work so I stripped all the components off so it was just the MOBO. Tried many different ways of fixing it and nothing has worked, so I've come here to beg for a solution.pc1.thumb.jpg.cfbc9135b36cc6d5e4283c1e449f16fc.jpgpc2.thumb.jpg.7d66aba489de17ef4b82f896ec310bdb.jpg

This is usually how the bios button and USB port work, best way to confirm as you will want to be 100% certain you are doing this correctly is to follow the steps in your manual and be sure to do it step by step how it says. If it still does not work you may need to take the board into a professional and pay to have the bios updated.

First make sure you have the bios file on the flash drive and have it named correctly, the file cannot be the bios update version name it will need to be changed to a specific name that Gigabyte determines, it will be listed in your manual. If the file is not correctly named it will not work. You also need to make sure that the USB port you're plugging the flash drive into is the one labeled as the bios flash USB port. Also the flash drive needs to be setup in Fat32 and the file needs to preferably be the only thing on the drive. The bios flash button will need to be pushed and held with the USB plugged in, in the right port for about 5 seconds, then let go, the light on the back should come on as well as any rgb lights on the board. I would let it go for about 20 minutes or until the board turns off, 20 minutes should be long enough for the update to go through if it doesn't automatically turn off on it's own.
