Is 50hz enough for movies, anime, videos in general? Not gaming.

Almost everything non-gaming is 24 or 30 fps, with a few 48 fps movies. Some online video platforms do 50 and 60 fps, so you won't get everything out of the 60 fps video. There are also like 4 movies at 120 fps, but they're all mediocre and I think only the theatrical releases were 120.

 

Basically, 50 hz is fine for non-gaming uses.

If you're in an NTSC country, I'd recommend a multiple of 30. If you're in a PAL country, 50 should be (mostly) fine. The only oddities that can creep up are interpolation artifacts going to 30/60 to 50fps.
