I'm planning on buying a new case and cpu cooler, the corsair obsidian 450D mid-tower and H100i. Of course I'm gonna place 2 front intake fans, 1 exhaust at the back and 2 corsair sp120's on the h100i. The H100i will be placed in the case 'ceiling?'

My questions are:

CAN I  actually switch the standard fans which come with the H100i to the sp120's ?

Do I still need the CPU fan header?

Can I connect the 2 sp120's which are on the H100I to the CPU fan header and CPU opt fan? (In that case I'll obviously still need the cpu fan header) Or Do I connect those to normal system fan headers?

Can all my fans be controlled by temperature through corsair link? I'll be using 5 SP120's which only have 3pin connectors

PS: My mobo only supports 3 system fans

Got any software which allows me to control fan speeds?

the fans have to be PWM or 4 pin fans for you to control the speed @xxMichael has that set up and he can help you more than i can, since i dont have this setup but he does

I can manually control the fan speed, I'm sure of that because I've done so with Gigabyte Easytune, but I really don't want to use that software, rather something simple, lightweight that easily allows me to just control my fan speed and maybe temps of cpu etc

If you want to control all fans easily, I reccomended plugging all the case fans into a fan controller, it doesn't get more simple than that really, however plug the h100i fans into the CPU header.

CPU: i7 3770k@ 4.6Ghz@ 1.23v - GPU: Palit GTX 660ti - MOBO: Asrock Extreme 4 - RAM: Corsair vengeance 8GB 1600Mhz - PSU: OCZ 650watt - STORAGE: 128Gb corsair force GT SSD/ 1TB seagate barracuda 7200rpm

your h100i should have a 2 way fan splitter i believe, plug those to the 2 sp120s and into the cpu fan header.

you can find another 2 way fan splitter to plug both front fans into the sysfan header.

last fan into the last fan header.

or otherwise use a fan controller for the 2 intakes and exhaust

for software you could try using speedfan to control fan speeds.
