Someone please help this amateur (me) with his fan/rgb connectivity nightmare

quinn.wh

Hello from Australia everyone! This is a repost from Reddit because the people over there couldn't seem to solve my issue/s. The details of my issues are in the images, and the only one I have managed to solve since posting on Reddit is that the RGB hub that came with my AIO also came with an adapter for RGB connectors on motherboards that I previously didn't see. This being said, my mini-ITX motherboard (which is inside of an m-ATX case) only has one RGB connector (and one system fan connector, as well as a 4-pin CPU fan connector). The problem with this is that my main fan hub (the one in pictures 2 and 6) uses the RGB header instead of a fan header as its motherboard plugin. Would I just need to buy a splitter to solve this issue, or would I run into voltage issues running 5 fans, an AIO and the RGB for each from one header?

Hope everyone's having a great holiday season!

-Quinn

3pin AIO goes to the motherboard. AIO header or CPU header

the other 4pin fan cables can also just be plugged into the MB.

When it comes to the RGB / ARGB connectors. that mess is the price of not buying stuff with standard connectors

I knew that the AIO header went into the motherboard, but thank you for seemingly confirming with me that I just need to get a 3pin to 4pin adapter for it.

I explained in the text portion of the post that my motherboard only has one CPU fan header as it's a Mini-ITX board. I currently have them plugged into my other fan header, I just wanted to simplify it and was asking for ideas on that, but it seems like not a lot can be done.

And as for the last part, yes, I have learned my lesson. I usually like a challenge (my actual PC is a converted Dell Optiplex, heaps of cabling issues there), but this build that I was doing for someone else has opened my eyes to the hellish world of non-standardised RGB and fan cabling.

I'm probably going to have to re-pin all of the 5pin fan/RGB cables into new, standard, seperate fan and RGB headers and buy a new hub that has tons of 4 and 3 pin connections unless anyone happens to know of a perfect adapter for the header that comes with that particular 1stPlayer hub that splits their 5pin fan/RGB connection into a 3pin RGB and 3 or 4pin fan.

If there are any other suggestions then that's still more than welcome!!!
