Socket 1700 (compatibility)

Hello,

 

Got  Asus motherboard model Z690-M Plus D4 (Socket 1700) and Gamer Storm DeepCool Assassin III Cooler (Socket 1151).

 

The cooling company told me via email that Assassin III has 1151 socket and my Asus Z690-m Plus d4 has compatibility with 1151 Socket. 

 

In my motherboard manual says that the motherboard supports socket 1700 though has  also added compatibility for 1200 socket.

 

I am a beginner on build PC. So is that ok? Gonna work?

 

Any way I requested the free compatibility kit from the cooling company but they told me they are missing something and the delivery will take a bit. Though, they told me I can install it immediately without the kit

Yes it will work. Asus adds compatibility to there boards usually with new generations/socket changes like this to there first line up of boards so it has mounting holes that supports both the new 1700 mounting and the older 115x mounting. It will work.
