Big oof

Yea if you wanna swap back to w10 you are gonna have to fresh install w10 ;-;

Might aswell take the opportunity to run a debloat script and improve performance by deleting all the telemetry, though make sure to not accidentally delete any important ms apps

I upgraded to windows 11 basically for the window snap feature and at the time I thought the integration of teams would be useful since my College uses Teams and Microsoft 365 apps everywhere.

I only recently learned 3 things.

1. PowerToys can emulate the same windows snap functionality in Win10.

2. The integrated Teams is something else that MS wants to become a personal chat app (good luck wit that) and NOT for work or school.

3. Win11 is not good for lower end laptops in terms of battery life and performance.

Hence, i want to go back to Win10. Unfortunately i deleted the Windows.old file as soon as i upgraded because it took a lot of space (~80GB and my 240GB drive was on the brink).

So the Recovery in the settings app is not an option. The video LTT did with Acronis also wouldn't work since i would have to backed up my data in Win10 BEFORE going to Win11.

I still did download Acronis and uploaded my entire Laptop to their cloud with the free trial just in case.

What options do i have if i want to go back to Win10 while still keeping all my Data? I'd prefer the Acronis Cloud being my last resort.

If you have deleted the windows.old then only way to downgrade now is to fresh install windows 10 and then copy back your files.

Ah shit, i was hoping it wouldn't have to come to this.

You know what, thats not a bad idea. I'll do just that. I remember reading some program or other that has button toggles to disable telemetry, I'll look into it. Thanks for the help

I do suggest running a debloat script though i think you should run winaerotweaker and shutup 10 first as they are adequate enough for debloating, make a system restore, then try a debloat script for even more bloat removed

will see first how the two apps do it. the idea of running scripts is a bit unsettling, i dont trust myself to NOT fucc up somehow.

But thanks for the tech tip i will definitely try debloating.
