Hi fellow members of the LinusTechTips Forum, I am new on the forum but have been a subscriber for a few months and Linus videos have helped me out greatly. So back to the point of this post I just bought a "Gigabyte GT 630 2GB GDDR3 1600MHz DVI HDMI D-SUB PCI-E Graphics Card". It says that i need a Power requirement of 350W and i have a 450w PSU, so i am wondering if I need to buy a new PSU so that i can power the rest of my component. can you please get back to me asap thanks

The power requirement stated by the vendor includes minimal PSU wattage for running GPU and all the other hardware, so yes, your 450W PSU will be sufficient. GT630 itself needs way less power (25-65W, depends on the model).

Any unknown button should be pressed even number of times.

Hello, welcome to the forum. Wattage-wise, 450w is plenty for a GT 630 system. More importantly though, we would need to know the brand of the PSU, if you're using some crappy no name then you might want to consider upgrading to something more respectable.

Also, why GT 630? D:

Thanks For the quick replays, and the reason i picker the Gt 630 is because i need a quick upgrade i was using the build in graphics of the Asus M4A88T-M Micro ATX AM3 Motherboard, its just to boost my computer performance.

Valid reason, but in general those "low-end" graphics cards flop in terms of price to performance, but if you just use your computer for email, documents and web browsing something like that will work.  Going with something like a 750 Ti for example gives a better value for your buck if you want to do anything more intensive, for instance I am willing to bet that any sort of simple photo editing software would grind to a hault on a Gt 630.

In the end it all depends on what you the user are doing. Have a good day...or evening across the pond.
