Sorting through Old Hardware to be Formatted. (Help)

So i have a 2 TB HHD. This drive has been in use for the last 3-4 years.

 

I can not remember if i had important documents on it anymore.

 

Is there a good way i could get all files in a list then sort them by type so i could do that one at a time?
