Garry's mod lag

My garry's mod runs fine and then once in a while it becomes really laggy all the time for days.. I have tried re-installing etc. I have a pc more than capable running it and my ping is always sub 30, i have tried messing around with the settings enabling v-sync etc lowering the resolution and it never helps. Any help is appreciated :)

How do you get lag on Garry's mod with a 780 Ti? O.o

Are you sure you're using the right term? Lag is a network issue. Period. Whether it's on your end or not is the question. What is your internet up/down?

Maybe it's just the latest Garry's Mod version?

He said his ping is always sub-30ms.

Well then the problem is server-side.

That is, IF his problem is lag and not dropped framerate or input delay.

Maybe your Harddrive isn't fast enough.

 

Experienced that on my old Notebook (single 5400RPM Drive), whenever I pressed Q to bring up the Spawnmenu it will read the Props Data and Render the Objects for an Thumbnail.

 

At first I was dissapointed because my Notebook had a good enough Graficcard in it and the Frames dropped sometimes but as soon as the Thumbnails were created it ran like a Charm.

 

Also I experienced that a Garrysmod Server needs some good Hardware, especially if the Server had a good amount of Addons installed.
