I'm looking to install the latest ubuntu as a dual boot on the Internal Drive on my Mac mini 2018.
I know the T2 security chip restricts access to install on the internal drive, however you can turn off the boot security.
Many guides fail to mention that the chip still won't let you install directly on the internal.
My main questions are:
- Is the latest Ubuntu already going around this issue?

- Do I just not need the patch now?

No one directly specifies the answers to these, I will try installing directly anyways.

Use csrutil in terminal to disable System Integrity Protection.

Boot in recovery mode and open up the startup-utility (where you pick startup drive)

There should be a button allowing you to specify security policy. With System integrity protection disabled there's a lot more options
