Basically before you read I might just be getting bad temperatures because of the form factor of my case but I know other people get way lower temperatures.

Specs:

- i7 3770k

- H100i with Noctua nf-f12's

- Asus z77 i deluxe board

- Mini itx rig in a Fractal node 304 case

- Let me know what else you need to know

I have been having trouble overclocking my i7 3770k and keeping the temperatures under control. These are my stock temps which seem high to me. The fans are running at 1000 rpm in the below testing.

I have a complete novice at overclocking but I understand enough to get the cpu to the frequency I want. At 4.2 ghz with stock voltage of 1.2 V I am getting 85+ degrees. I stop the test before seeing how much higher than 85 it will go. I have no crashing so the only limiting factor at the moment is temperature.

Any help is appreciated and please call me an idiot if this exact post exists, I did check :)
