Just open the back panel before ordering.
It's an older model and it might not support m2. in that case you need a 2.5 inch model like this
WD Blue 3D NAND SATA SSD WDS500G2B0A - Solid state drive - 500 GB - internal - 2.5-inch - SATA 6Gb/s

Spoiler

CPU Ryzen 5900X - Motherboard Asus ROG STRIX X570-E - RAM 16GB of G.SKILL NEON 3600 -
GPU EVGA RTX 3080 XC3 - Case Mastercase H500p mesh - PSU Seasonic Focus Gx-850 -
Corsair MP600 NVME 1 Tb, Samsung 960 PRO 500 Gb & 2 Seagate Baracuda 7200 RPM 2TB in stripe -
Display two VG27AQ 2K monitor - Cooling Corsair H150 Pro -

Keyboard G-910 W/ Romer G tactile - Mouse G 502 Hero (wired) -
Sound Logitech X-530 and Razer Tiamat headphones

Operating System Windows 10

So my current storage situation is 128GB PCIe M.2 SSD + 1TB 7200RPM HDD

Since I have a 128gb m.2 ssd already, does that meant that I am good to go?

I believe theres an extra slot for expansion but if not, is it just a backup of the old ssd before swapping them?

Yes and yes.

Get a good drive like the SN750, Crucial P5, Samsung 970 Evo Plus, or any of the other drives that people who know more than me recommend. I'd personally get whichever one of those drives is the cheapest, though there are other good drives for cheaper (just make sure to get one with a DRAM cache).
