Hello,

First of all, excuse the long post.

I have a new build with the following specs:

i9 11900K

64GB DDR-4

RTX 3090

1 TB SSD

2TB HDD

PSU: 1050w, 850w, 1200w

The issue I have with this machine is that it randomly reboots at any given time; gaming, mining, or simply browsing. However, most reboots happen within a few minutes (up to a few hours) when mining.

Please note the following:

  • Replaced the PSU with an Asus Rog 1000w
  • Switched to an open air case (Coolermaster Master Frame) hoping temps would be the issue (temps dropped on average of 10c)
  • No overclocking
  • I tried mining with other software running, or no running at all (CPU mining was off)
  • GPU-Z shows normal temps (62c at full GPU load, CPU around 50c)
  • Today I'm replacing the PSU with an Asus ROG Thor 1200w PSU - I think all wattage readings from GPU-Z were totaling up to 950/1000w (I'm not sure if this is the right way of calculating it)
  • GPU is connected via 2 PCIe cables
  • CPU is liquid cooled (pump, radiator)

I'm starting to think that the issue is from the power extension since I've got 3 extensions connected to each other with lots of device hooked up. And they're not the best brands of extensions.

Any suggestions?

Try plugging in the Machine its own wall socket, no powerextensioncord mess inbetween...

It's probably the extension chords. Like how @Anghammarad mentioned, try connecting your pc directly to a wall socket. Since your pc reboots and doesn't completely shutdown, I recommend going through the windows logs to understand the reason for these reboots.

Yes, that seems the best way to troubleshoot. I haven't looked at event logs unforunately.
