How to speed up update proccess?

I just installed Windows 8.1 64bit pro. I have installed updates and yet I did not receive update 1. I googled around and found out that it could take weeks in order to get this update. Is there any way to speed this proccess up and get update 1 faster?

That's just obviously trolling. Open the Windows Update and install it manually if you want.

It was same with WinXP service packs. Windows update needs certain packs to be installed before it offers the Service Pack (which 8.1 is). If you can't find manual download version from Microsofts download center then install all other updates and reboot. It should appear. If it doesn't then it will in 24h.
