Hi everyone,

I'm in the UK with a budget of around £500-600 and I'm looking to buy a pre-built PC that is capable of efficiently running basic software like word/ excel/ powerpoint/ teams/ google etc.

Performance is valued above all else, aesthetic doesnt really matter at all for me.

And I have all the peripherals I need at the moment so I dont need a monitor/mouse/keyboard or anything like that.

I appreciate any help that anyone can offer, thanks a lot! 🙂

You've got a good budget for a great machine.

A difficulty is stock of machines like this - it's not just gaming hardware that is pricier and rarer than normal.

For quick and dirty decent office use computers I often recommend zoostorm. They use standard parts that can be repaired and replaced easily and are, for a prebuilt, fairly priced.

They are also out of stock everywhere i'm looking.

Try pcspecialist.co.uk

Specwise, look for desktops with Intel i5 10xxx, 11xxx or 12xxx CPUs or AMD Ryzen 5 5xxx CPUs.

You want integrated graphics, 16gb of RAM and 256-512gb SSDs.

Make sure you remember to add WiFi if you need it, and check how many front and back USB ports the machines come with.

You'll likely want to choose Windows 10/11 Pro over home unless you're certain you don't need the pro networking features.
