What is the cord called that goes from the PSU to the laptop, they do sell them separately right?

Power adapter, AC adapter, power brick. It would be easier to know the specific laptop in question then you can just look up the power adapter model number to find a replacement.

its the power supply... or power brick...

Usually you can get those as spare parts original or third party... 

 

For example in our company, we got a bunch of refurb Lenovo Thinkpads with docking stations, but only one power brick... 

SO I needed to get at least one more power brick per Laptop... Original lenovo 70 bucks +, Lavolta third party 20 bucks...
