My friend is going to build a gaming PC soon, so I would like to know what are some good games to play together. Any suggestions are welcome.

I can point you to games I've enjoyed playing with old friends, but it doesn't mean they are your types of games.

There is no release date for Diablo 4, so I wouldn't wait. Diablo 2 is plenty fun but may require some nostalgia to fully enjoy (assuming you played it years ago), because the gameplay isn't quite modern anymore. Diablo 3 has a more modern flow for gameplay and ability assigning. I'm personally playing the heck out of Diablo 2 Resurrected, but then, I played it tons 20 years ago. If you're fully new to the franchise and want more of the story, start with D2. If you simply want the most modern play style, start with D3.
