RTX 3080 Issues

William23r

Hi All!

Trying to diagnose an issue with an RTX 3080 (Inno3d Ichill X4)聽馃槥

A couple months after building my pc randomly black screened, when attempting to boot again EZdebug lights prompted at a GPU issue!

Tried the usual troubleshooting processes, including a different pc that is known to work 100% no issues.

This still led to power on (RGB and fans spins) but not video output and the EZdebug lights leading to a GPU issue.

So tried to RMA this and they returned it stating no fault!

So once it returned tried it again straight away and I could only get it to boot at certain angles (Without the screws securing), with screws it will not boot!

Any idea what this would be caused by ? and possible ways to fix this? (I'm hesitant to say motherboard because I've tried it in two separate builds with the same result and the GPU is fully into the PCIE slot that functions A-okay with another GPU)

then you already answered it , the pci-e slot isn't making contact with the edge connector. replace the board

Both PCIe slots?聽 Seems unlikely.

Router:聽 Intel N100 (pfSense) WiFi6: Zyxel NWA210AX (1.7Gbit peak at 160Mhz)
WiFi5: Ubiquiti NanoHD OpenWRT (~500Mbit at 80Mhz) Switches: Netgear MS510TXUP, MS510TXPP, GS110EMX
ISPs: Zen Full Fibre 900 (~930Mbit down, 115Mbit up) + Three 5G (~800Mbit down, 115Mbit up)
Upgrading Laptop/Desktop CNVIo WiFi 5 cards to PCIe WiFi6e/7

Then replace the card. If holding it in a specifc spot fixes it then one or the other is physically damaged and should be replaced
