Keyboard issues

Greetings:

 

I am having a few issues with my Keyboard (more specifically, a Logitech G19[non-s]), yet, I'm not sure if it is my Keyboard or my USB ports. 

 

Essentially what happens is about every few minutes the keyboard will completely stop working for a few seconds, the LCD Screen will shut off as well as the backlights and even the basic keyboard functionality shuts down. I have had this keyboard since about June 2011 and I think it could just be its age that is getting to it. It is probably something in the port itself from many plug ins as well as ejections.  

 

Is it time for a new keyboard or is it something that can be fixed?
