Application instant crash/ Will not open??

i am using Windows 10 and i have a application for work that was originally made for windows 98/XP that i cannot get to open on my PC. on other PC's it opens just fine. but my desktop and laptop will not open the app.

 

it instantly crashes (error 1000) in event viewer.

 

fixes i have tried

1. sfc scannow in CMD

2. making sure windows is on latest update.

3. checking properties of application to make sure they match from one PC to another

4. run in admin/compatibility mode for older versions of windows

 

I'm not sure if there are any other solutions/ since it is for work they will not allow it to be run on an old operating system since that might compromise the network and it requires network access.

 

please im sure someone on the forum has much more knowledge about this than i do.
