I tried getting ram before but it just wouldn't work, I know some about pc's but not that much, much less hardware knowledge then software, when I first tried when I installed the ram it just would NOT boot, I did try reseting CMOS waited like 2 min then just took out new ram and it work.

How many sticks was it packed with? Knowing it has 4 slots, it was probably 2 x 4gb coming from a prebuilt company, am I right?

Are they identical?

You've also mentioned "new ram", I assume you're trying to upgrade it?

Please be more specific.

Sometimes ram modules just aren't always compatible with the board, or can't run in parallel with the other(s).

Try these:

- Make sure the module you're trying to add is non-ECC

- Reset all memory related settings in the BIOS, then boot with both in dual channel config (each in one channel)

- Try running with the new stick only

- Try different configurations (single channel with both on the same channel or dual channel, switch their positions):

Channel A: DDR4_2, DDR4_4

Channel B: DDR4_1, DDR4_3

1. By ram settings in bios do you mean cmos?
2. And if I try just the new and it doesn’t work will putting the old back in just work?

1- What I mean is that you can enter the bios (usually with f2 or delete key) with the old stick, reset all settings to default, shut down the pc then start it with both sticks.

2- Probably
