G15 Upgrade recommandation

Hi, I have a G15 GA503QS ( Ryzen 9-Rtx 3080-16gb-1tb ) and I would like to upgrade it. Besides gaming, I do some audio production and I would like to get the best performance for both. I am looking to upgrade the ram and get a second ssd. I would max out the Ram to 40, but I am afraid it’s overkill.Does anyone have any recommendations? Also looking for which brands are best. Thanks

What do you mean with 40? Do you mean 40 Gigabytes? that's going to hurt the performance since anything using more than 10 gigs of RAM will go to the second stick of RAM with 32 gigs, therefore it's only really operating in single-channel. If you really want to upgrade it, I'd recommend getting either 2x16GB or even 2X32GB for your config. I think there is no overkill. If you do audio production and have multiple tracks that have to all be loaded, much RAM can be an advantage. IF you are looking for a brand, it doesn't matter too much, but RAM from Kingston is usually the cheapest but still high quality. They even offer you to enter your devices model number and it'll find the RAM config for it and show compatible memory modules

Are you maxing out your ram? Normally for audio production ram usage isn't too high. Could you check task manager if you are even maxing it out?

 

For the ssd your g15 only has one m.2 slot so you can't do that.

1 stick is soldered to the board so op at best can get a 32gb and 8gb config.
