Phone upgrade.

Hello guys. Finally upgrading my Samsung galaxy S3 "contract ended". I would like the phone to have a good camera and powerful specs to last 2 years . Some of the phones i have been looking at are Samsung Galaxy S5 and LG G2. I know it's rumoured for the LG G3 to come out around September this year but i can't wait till then due to contract ended. So what do you guys think?

While this might not be a popular opinion, I'd suggest you look at Nokia Lumia phones. They have good cameras (the 1020 has 41MP which is insane) and Windows Phone is getting updates quite regularely even on older phones so it should last for 2 years.

I watched a  Marques Brownlee review on the 1020. Amazing camera but the rest of the phone isn't great.

Yeah, if you're going for a good camera I'd also recommend the Windows Phone

If you want a bit deeper of an OS, I'd go for the new Sony Z2.

 

I'm assuming you want on contract to get the discounted phone. If you have any interest in selling the device you get as an upgrade, you could look at buying the OnePlus One.

It's shaping up to be quite an interesting device as well.

Nexus 5 and Sim Only, don't be tied into a contract

That's the phone my brother uses. Don't like the camera on it but phone is still great.

Thing that puts me off the Z2 is the Glass. Also i already sold the phone "yesterday" and i haven't looked up on the OnePlus One yet but i have seen it mentioned in a couple of threads.

Yeah I hear ya on that one, that's actually the same reason I won't even consider it. Why they think glass on the back is a good idea is beyond me. It breaks easily, and attracts dirt and fingerprints like no other.

There isn't much to check out, just the list of specs so far and the price.

It comes out on the 23rd.

I think the GS5 is...kind of a shitty device. I mean it's decent, don't get me wrong, but it's not that great.

LG has used too much cheap feeling plastic as of late, but the G2 otherwise in an awesome device.

Have you considered the Oppo Find 7?

The OnePlus One is also a beast. 5.5" screen, 3gb RAM, 16gb/64gb, 3100+ mah battery, swappable covers, TOL display, under $350.

Oppo Find 7a is the only one selling in the UK (I think) Yeah the GS5 doesn't appeal to me that much, only it's camera. I am thinking of Picking up a LG G2 or maybe even a Google Nexus 5 to use till September when allot of the new phones come out and just sell it.

Most new phones come out around now. The only ones I know that come out in Q4 are the Note series, maybe the G3 if they push it back. The new Moto should be early summer.

They don't really sound all that great. 2k screens are still kind of meh. Which is hard for me to say, I love pushing the envelopes even if it's not necessary.

I wouldn't consider one until the 810 processors come out, or reviews show they have a very minimal impact on battery life and can provide rich colors. Oppo's screen is very cool and almost looks washed out because of it.

G3 just interests me considering i am using a GS3 but the Oppo Find 7a looks cool too.
