Slow wifi

Hi guys,

 I didnt really knew were to post thi so i'am going to put it here. My wifi in my room is super slow but if i put an ethernet cable in my laptop and create an hotspot its perfect.

So now is my latop constantly on and it cant be good for the poor thing. Is there some kind of really simple device that can do the same thing. Not like a repeater or a bulky

router but just something small that creates a small hotspot just for my room

Your options are a repeater or an Access point.

A repeater is simple and will just repeat your WIFI signal. An Access point will require an ethernet cable and will create a its own WIFI Signal from the Ethernet signal. You can set it up as anything you want. If you game on that WiFi Signal, you may run into NAT issues, but with some tweaking it'd be fine.
