Hello guys,

I'm having this issue where on some games (Black Dessert Online, FFXIV, AoE4, etc.) the PC just clean restarts itself. Event Viewer on Windows 10 shows:

Event 41 - Kernel Power:

The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.

Troubleshooting (What I've tried):

  • Reseating and deep clean of all components.

  • Re-applied thermal paste to CPU & GPU --> Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut.

  • Uninstalled GPU Drivers using DDU.

  • Changed PSU: FROM Corsair Series RM (2018), RM850 TO Corsair Series RMX (2021), RM850x

  • Deleted and re-installed all PC drivers directly from the manufacturer webpage.

  • Undervolting CPU & GPU.

  • No RAM DOCP or Auto OC settings.

  • Flat Bios settings.

PC Setup:

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 3900X

  • CPU Cooler: Corsair Hydro H100X

  • GPU: AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT Sapphire Nitro+

  • Thermal Paste: Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut

  • RAM: 32GB G.Skill F4-3600C19-8GTZRB

  • MOBO: ASUS TUF GAMING X570-PLUS (WI-FI)

  • SSD: Intel 660p NVMe PCIe M.2 1T

  • HDD: Seagate FireCuda SSHD 2TB

  • PSU: Corsair Series RMX (2021), RM850x

  • Case: NZXT H500 (I know, forgive me)

  • OS & Version: Windows 10 Pro, Build 19043

  • GPU Drivers: Adrenalin 21.10.2 Recommended (WHQL)

I'm panicking and starting to think its just that I need to change the GPU 😞

Any help is appreciated,

Thanks.

event 41 just tells you that the system wasnt shutdown cleanly, when looking for an actual error, it wont be much help.

if it just yeets itself out without any bluescreen or errors, i'm strongly leaning towards some strange power event (overcurrent, heat-induced short circuit, etc.)

what happens if you run something like unigine superposition benchmark, alongside 7-zip's builtin benchmark?

I have been having similar issue. Pc restarts with no blue screen only during games. I have the same error code (with all zeros for bug codes, which can be seen by clicking “details” on error 41 in event viewer). I also have warning 10016 for windows and the Applications error log shows an error regarding game licenses. It is incredibly frustrating, I am hesitant to continue trying to fix the issue right now as my pc is stable otherwise and i would like to keep it that way lol. I have tried resetting windows 10 and the issue is still there with only steam installed. I’m going to try a completely fresh windows install from usb and will report back.

Indeed it just Yeets out of without showing any error it happens this way -> Play any "demanding gpu game"  @2k res High/Ultra settings -> Black Screen (Can still hear the games for like 3-4seconds tho) -> Pc restarts itself.

Regarding your question, it just ran and finished *screenshot attached.superposition.thumb.PNG.2193ef4ec3698a996a29b85b03829d2b.PNG

Ok. So i installed fresh windows from usb, installed latest graphic driver, only install steam, and it still happens. This time i got a blue screen (once out of several attempts). I tried moving the games from my 2.5” ssd to my m.2 boot drive and it still happened. Attached some photos of bug codes for error 41. I guess it is progress. I see “clipsp.sys failed” on the blue screen. I don’t know how something could just start failing after working perfectly fine for a month, i’ve added a couple things to the system but it’s been at least a week since i even plugged in a new usb device. No need to rant on. Good luck.
