When playing online games my internet keeps cutting out and I get disconected.

I'm connected via ethernet to a repeater. But I don't think that the repeater is the problem since my brother in the other room, who is connected with wifi, doesn't have this issue.

So, this is a wired connection to a wireless repeater?

So we want to know what is the problem.

Wat you need

Your pc. And a smartphone

Press start button type in cmd open the Programm. Now you got a black window.

Type in

ping google.de -t

Press enter

You will get a text and a number that is measured in ms everything below 100 is good. Let it run!

Type cmd in again

Get another window and type in ipconfig. You now get tons of Infos. You need to find your connection and IP address

That is something like

192.168.0.26

192.168.178.23

After you figured your IP out you use the command

Ping xxx.xxx.xxx.1 -t

Use the numbers instead of X but the last 3 digits is just a 1.

Now comes the hard part your repeater should have his own IP address. You have to figure its IP address out and ping it.

Why do we do that? The next time your internet goes away we will see where its cut out. Internet, router or at repeater level.

You are awesome, stay safe and healthy.
