Can't open apps

So my friend can't open any apps on her pc, like Discord and steam. And apps don't go down in the system tray, hidden icons. Wallpaper engine for example won't open on startup and any other app.

 

I suspect that the pc is logged in on a temp account, but I don't know how to fix it, or even see if It's logged in on a temp account.

Hold shift while you press restart on the PC. This will launch the PC into automatic repair.

 

Once in there you should be able to access some troubleshooting utilities that can scan Windows for any issues. I would specifically look for any file system issues.

 

Alternatively, if you are able to open a cmd window I would run the following commands: "sfc /scannow" and "dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth" These two commands will scan the file system and repair and errors it finds.
