Ok so we have a painfully slow connection for our home. Ever since we "upgraded" our down mps with prism, its been slower.

The question is: would it be the router causing the slower connection? Should i invest in something like an ac router for 8 people?

Just a quick update: while downloading a game (its steam dont worry) ive noticed that all of m ly devices are gasping for a stable connection. The task manager on the pc, however, shows only 10% of network being used.

You'll find that Steam will be using up all of the bandwidth. For 8 people? You should look for a better connection (Cable/VDSL/Fiber).
